The Management of the Benue State College of Nursing Sciences (BSCONS), Makurdi, is delighted to formally announce the appointment of Nr. Victoria Gusa as the Acting Provost of the College.
This strategic appointment, approved by His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Executive Governor of Benue State, underscores the administration's commitment to strengthening leadership in nursing education and ensuring continued progress at one of the state's premier institutions for health sciences training.
Nr. Gusa brings over 25 years of rich experience in nursing education, clinical practice, and healthcare administration to this pivotal role. Registered as RN, RM, RME, she is a seasoned nurse educator and administrator widely respected for her dedication to professional excellence, mentorship of upcoming nurses, and contributions to quality healthcare delivery in Benue State and beyond.
In her capacity as Acting Provost, Nr. Gusa will provide visionary leadership to guide the College through its ongoing transformation, including preparations for full accreditation processes (such as recent engagements with the National Board for Technical Education – NBTE), curriculum enhancement, infrastructure development, and the training of competent, compassionate, and innovative nursing professionals.
The Management expressed profound gratitude to Governor Alia for this timely and thoughtful decision, which is expected to further elevate the status of BSCONS as a centre of excellence in nursing and midwifery education in Nigeria.
